GP led Health Centres

Harmoni is delivering a number of GP-led health centres in line with the Department of Health strategy for improving access to primary care services in 2008. These were to offer 8a.m. to 8p.m. access, 365 days a year to patients registered with the service, as well as to walk-in patients.

GP-led health centres provide more appointments, longer and more convenient opening hours and better access, choice and flexibility for patients.

These centres aim to give vulnerable groups the ability and confidence to access mainstream healthcare services and consequently reduce demand for over-utilised secondary care services.

Working in partnership with local GPs, Harmoni currently delivers GP-led health centres in North Somerset and Buckinghamshire which went live in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Harmoni solely delivers the GP-led health centres in North East Essex and Stoke which both went live in 2009.

Since these sites have gone live we have treated over 215,000 walk-in and registered patients.
