About Harmoni

Harmoni triage nurse working in one of our call centres

Harmoni provides primary care services to local patients in need of such services, usually at times when other parts of the NHS are closed or difficult to access and where the need for care is urgent. We are committed to excellence in local clinical delivery and work in partnership with our commissioners to deliver high quality, cost effective and timely care. In these ways Harmoni is sensitive to the unique needs of patients within a locality and is able to support the values, health campaigns and projects held dear by the community and its commissioning representatives.

Harmoni’s local clinicians are backed by state-of-the-art communications and information systems which are vital for patients’ well-being and the communication of healthcare information across the healthcare network to support life long patient care.

With a decade of experience, Harmoni is directly meeting the care needs of over three million NHS patients directly. And millions of others are benefiting from the high-tech systems and infrastructures that we have provided to our strategic healthcare provider partners.

Our services are provided through four dedicated service units:

Urgent Care

IT Services

Equitable Access

GP Companies

Primary Care Centre patients leaving after a GP appointment

Our vision is of an increasingly integrated local healthcare service where all of the relevant stakeholders are able to come together and cooperate as peers with the same fundamental commitment to the patient.

But talking about joined up healthcare is not enough. Harmoni is catalysing new models of care provision where care provider organisations make real and practical differences to patient's health and quality of life. Harmoni encourages patients, patient groups, commissioners and other participating stakeholders in the areas in which we operate to take an active and ongoing interest in our care provision, ideally joining the councils and management structures that have been locally created to properly guide our healthcare activities.  Harmoni believes that, in the ever changing landscape of the Health Economy, it is imperative that PCTs implement Demand Management to reduce demand at the hospitals by re-focussing and re-engineering their Provider Services.

Harmoni grew from the healthcare co-operative movement that saw clinicians come together as owners/members to provide better levels of care than ever before to their patients when doctors' surgeries were closed.
