Suffolk GP Out of Hours Service

What changes are being made to the service and why?

Harmoni is closing its bases in Aldeburgh, Newmarket and Wickham Market, and opening a new base location in Saxmundham. We will also be providing additional doctors in cars to ensure patients who live more than 30 minutes away from their nearest base can receive a home visit if required. The changes to base locations will enable us to make better use of our available GPs and nurses across the county and are based on analysis of how patients have used the service over the past 18 months. These changes will be tested for an initial three month period from February 1st 2012.

What do these changes mean for me?

In the first instance you must call the Suffolk GP Out of Hours Service on 0300 130 3066 to book an appointment. If required, you will be offered a base appointment. Alternatively, you may be offered a home visit.
